Paula Kunkel has been a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Fairbanks, Alaska for nearly two decades. She holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Yo San University, as well as a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine Degree (MTCM) from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology (AB) from Occidental College, and an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Ms. Kunkel has served nationally on the American Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ABORM) and is a fellow holding specialty board certification in Reproductive Oriental Medicine (FABORM).
After having twins, she was inspired to become pursue a specialty in Pediatric Acupuncture and continues to deepen her skills in Shonishin style noninvasive techniques.
Other interests currently include further studies in Hospital Based Acupuncture, Business Systems, and Postpartum Support/ Healing and prevention of birth related trauma.
Integrated medicine, wellness, health and healing of all levels of an individual’s being are part of the motivation to bring thermographic scan access to Interior Alaska- her passion is empowering individuals in their healing journey.
When she is out of the office, Ms. Kunkel enjoys keeping up with her twins, adventuring, berry picking and food preservation, and pursuing wonder.
